5 Ways You Can Get More SLEEP TRAINING TODDLER 18 MONTHS While Spending Less

While you are celebrating the fact that your baby has turned into a toddler and your sleeping woes are over, hold on a bit. Just go and prepare yourself for the long sleep regression that babies do have during their 18month to 2years. You don’t need to keep your mouth ajar as you read the eye-opener because it will certainly occur. It is both tiring and frustrating for both parties. This is when questions on how to sleep train a toddler come to play.

Imagine thinking of succeeding in putting your baby to sleep so that you can run off to the sitting room to watch your favorite movie only to be disappointed by your baby’s cry as you close the door behind you. It is so annoying as you don’t have any option but to return and pat the baby back to sleep.
However, to overcome this, it is ideal you consciously sleep train your baby. I will be exposing some sleep training approaches or methods that will help you during this period. This is also recommended for those adopting the sleep training of a toddler after the co-sleeping technique.
  1. Fading method: this is a conscious way of making your baby learn how to sleep off on their own easily. Maybe before now, you try to breastfeed or pat your baby to sleep. Adopting the method requires you gradually withdraw yourself from doing that and allow the baby to learn how to sleep off without being pat on the back or co-sleep with.
  2. Crying out method: the most common method used by tired parents. The child is allowed to cry till they are tired of crying and then sleeps.
  3. Feber method: it is almost like the crying method but the difference lies in the basis that you intermittently come back to check on the baby when they cry out. Make sure you don’t enter the room immediately after the baby starts crying as indirectly you allow them to sleep off gradually.
  4. Camping method: if your child used to sleep on your bed or you both do co-sleep and you want to start introducing them to their bed. You can start making them get comfortable with their bed by transferring them to the bed once they sleep off. In an attempt of crying, you can pat them to sleep or adopt a style that will make them know you’re still around.
  5. Chair method: your goal here is to calm and soothe your baby as they start crying just after sleeping off. The chair method is to reassure them that you’re still around. You can then start shifting the chair from their bed gradually till you no longer have to sit down and wait for them to sleep off.
